ILMC: Full-Season Entry List Released

Twenty-six cars entered for seven-round global championship, which kicks off at Sebring next month...
Following the Automobile Club de l’Ouest’s announcement of its selections for the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the French organizers also unveiled the entry list for this year’s Intercontinental Le Mans Cup.

Featuring an impressive list of 26 entries through four categories, the new global sportscar championship is well represented with teams from both Europe and North America.

Audi Sport Team Joest and Team Peugeot Total headline the entry list in LMP1, each entering a pair diesel-powered prototypes. They’re joined by a Peugeot 908 from Team ORECA Matmut, Rebellion Racing’s Lola B10/60 Toyota, two OAK Racing Oak-Pescarolo Judds and an Aston Martin AMR One.

In LMP2, Wisconsin-based Level 5 Motorsports headlines the entry with a Lola B08/80 Honda, joined by one of OAK Racing Oak-Pescarolo and a Oreca 03 Nissan for Signatech.

Seven entries are represented in GTE-Pro, with two-car teams from BMW Motorsport, Lotus Jetalliance and Luxury Racing as well as a third Ferrari 458 Italia for Italian GT specialists AF Corse.

The new GTE-Am category features six season-long entries, including Ferraris for Krohn Racing, AF Corse and CRS Racing. Larbre Competition’s Corvette C6.R, a Porsche 911 GT3 RSR for Team Felbermayr-Proton and Gulf AMR Middle East’s Aston Martin Vantage GT2 rounds out the field.

After a three-race tryout last year, the ILMC expands to a seven-round calendar in 2011. The season kicks off at Sebring next month before making stops at Spa-Francorchamps, Le Mans, Imola, Silverstone, Road Atlanta and a to-be-announced venue in China.
