Despite limited track time, it was a weekend filled with challenges for Level 5 Motorsports in their debut in European soil. The team - owned by Scott Tucker, has made its biggest gains in this day of qualifying for the 1000 Intercontinental Cup KM Le Mans.
Victorious in their last two races LMP2, Level 5 Motorsports landed on the prestigious circuit of Spa-Francorchamps with great confidence.
During practice Thursday, the car had minor electrical problems, preventing the owner and driver Scott Tucker to learn the track. Once the problem is solved, it was too late to evaluate and adjust the car properly.
Scott Tucker and his teammates Christophe Bouchut and Joao Barbosa have increased throughout the practice, despite the many incidents and red flags. A low total of 30 laps were recorded by combining the 3 sessions.
During qualification, the French rider Christophe Bouchut recorded a time of 2.13.851, improving by more than 3 seconds of their fastest time in practice this morning, putting the car in ninth position.
"We're happy because we made several changes (swing), which gave us more speed in a straight line. However, insufficient to compete with the leaders. We hope to reduce the difference by tomorrow, "said Christopher.
